Company Weather Vane Wine Estate is a company within the Piamonte conglomerate, which includes Las Veletas Winery and is led by renowned entrepreneur Raúl Dell Oro. Since its founding in 1998, we have been dedicated to cultivating grapes and crafting wines of the highest quality to satisfy the needs of wineries in Chile and internationally. Vineyards We possess 340 hectares of premium vineyards situated in Loncomilla, Maule Valley. These vineyards are exclusively sourced from our low-yield, proprietary estates, producing at a rate of just 12 tons per hectare. This unique source of grapes allows us the flexibility to fine-tune our blends to cater to a variety of distinct wine styles. The remaining grapes are sold to other well-recognized wineries and for bottled wine under private labels. Since 2023, we have also been producing bulk wines. Our winery currently enjoys high recognition and scores from prestige wine writers, such as Tim Atkin, James Suckling, Guia Descorchados, Catad D’Or and Decanter, having several wines +90 points. Indeed, at the Decanter Wine World Awards 2022, LAS VELETAS got 97 and Platinum Medal for our new wine ALMAULE Pais 2021, made from 107 year old vines.
